Frequently Asked Questions

Who are your clients?

Adult men and women

Do you have flexible hours?

Accommodations can be made on an as needed basis for established clients.

Is insurance accepted?

As of now, we do not accept insurance. However, rates are comparable to insurance co-pays. For many, coaching will be more affordable than their insurance co-pay.

How do we meet for an appointment?

Online or in-person. In-person appointments occur in Slippery Rock, PA.

What should I expect from a session?

Support, a listening ear, and collaboration. Outside of sessions, expect "homework," journaling, and exploring various methods of self-care.

Why book with a mental health coach instead of a licensed provider?

Unlike therapists, who diagnose and treat clinical disorders, coaches offer a pragmatic, results-oriented approach tailored for individuals who want actionable steps. Plus, no diagnosis is required.

Another reason is trauma or mental disorders are not impacting their daily lives, but they feel "stuck in a ditch" and need a few sessions to feel back on track. However, some people have a past that keeps showing up in daily life, making things unnecessarily difficult. Partnered with a licensed therapist, mental health coaches support ongoing therapies and strategies for positive, forward momentum.

Meet Amanda

I am a child of God, a wife of an avid outdoorsman, a mom of an amazing teenage daughter, a writer and creator, business owner, an avid gardener-in-the-making, a Bible student, and a disciple of Jesus. I live in western Pennsylvania and aim to lead people into healing relationship with Jesus and each other. My heart resides in creating community where people feel connected and seen, even at their worst.

I discover more everyday about letting Jesus define me as a child of God, deliver me from darkness and guide me with His light to prepare me to be with Him for eternity. I've watched Him work through my family and friends to teach me about His provision and His love. He has been so faithful. I aim to share the hope found in Him through Mountains To Plains Coaching.

Jesus gave His body to be broken for our healing and we can experience His resurrected body through fellowshipping with other believers. We are healed by His stripes and our becoming like Jesus includes God working through our healed wounds to help others:

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

My education includes Art Institute of Atlanta, Graphic Design, Ames International School of Ministry, Biblical Studies and Light University, Professional Mental Health Coach. I am active in my local community and always seeking to cultivate new relationships.

I'm so glad you stopped by. My prayer is that you are blessed, encouraged, and strengthened by what you read here and take away from our personal meetings.  I hope you can leave with something you can share with another disciple of Jesus Christ.
